Fun and Easy Team Building Exercises
Need to strengthen the team of employees when you are in a corporate management position? Then don't feel that your alone. The strong team is the one thing that successful companies have in common.. This is why you will find so many advertisements for corporate retreats, workshops and seminars. There are even team building consultants who can be hired to help you strengthen your corporate team. If you are not ready to go on a retreat or hire a consultant, you can try some team building exercises. Many of these exercises can be done in very little time and can help cultivate trust and communication between teammates.
One exercise is called the Recipe Game. Divide your employees into teams and give your teams scraps of paper on which a part of a recipe is written. The goal of this game is to arrange the scraps into a legible recipe that makes sense. You will want to cut the recipe into strips, including the title, instructions, ingredients, etc. The first team who puts their recipe in order wins. Another example of a team building exercise is Make a Shape. Have your team form a circle. Everyone gets blindfolded and a rope is placed within the circle. Team members must hold on to the rope and form a perfect square without looking or letting go of the rope.
There are probably hundreds of different exercises that can be done. The key is to find exercises that you think your team will respond well to. You don't want your employees grumbling about doing team building exercises. As a manager, you should have an idea about what the people you are managing are like. If team building exercises don't feel right to you, how about a more structured activity? This can be a sport like bowling, softball or even laser tag. Anything that gets your employees working as a team towards a common goal can help them build initiative and strengthen their bonds with each other.
Team building exercises are effective not just in the corporate world, but in the classroom as well. If you are a teacher who wants to cultivate a sense of connection and teamwork among your students fun exercises can be the perfect solution. You can find lots of exercises in books or even on the Internet. Or, make up your own exercises to suit your individual team building needs.
