Team Building Games for Work

If your a supervisor in a position of leadership,then probably think yourself to be the team leader.Even if the employees are ignorant of this ,those who are under your supervision are considered as a team.Therefore in order to spell success ,their common goal should be working together as a strong team. There are lots of fun and educational team building games for work that you can use to improve teamwork among your employees. Benefits of a strong team include better communication among employees, increased problem solving skills and more trust throughout the company.

You may want to start off with some quick and easy ice breakers. These exercises can be done in minutes and can be very effective. One activity is the name acronym. Have each employee write their name in vertical letters with each letter standing for a characteristic about them. For example, if your name was Joe you might describe yourself as Jovial, Open-Minded and Enthusiastic if indeed those traits applied to you. After the exercise is done each employee introduces themselves using their acronym.

After such an icebreaker, you may want to move on to a more in-depth team building exercise. One example is called Lava River. This exercise requires two lengths of rope and a carpet square for every two employees. The goal is to get everyone across the river (which is designated by the ropes) using the carpet squares. Participants cannot scoot or slide across the squares and the squares must be touched at all times or they will be swept into the river and burned up. This exercise takes teamwork and communication to get everyone across.

Another idea for team building games for work is to participate in a sporting event. One example of this would be a corporate softball team. Many companies have their own softball teams because this pursuit gets employees out of the office and teaches them to think on their feet and work together. Sporting events increase camaraderie and strengthen the bonds between teammates.
